Atlanta Local: TOP FLR

Every month, the Hello Beautiful team takes a well-deserved break from their busy schedules to enjoy a delightful dinner together. For this month’s outing, we selected the charming TOP FLR, nestled in the heart of midtown. TOP FLR occupies a cozy two-story brick building at the picturesque intersection of Myrtle and Ponce De Leon. This restaurant and bar offers a diverse array of specialty drinks alongside an enticing selection of bistro dishes, pizzas, and salads.

Upon our arrival, we experienced a momentary lapse in service as we weren’t immediately greeted and weren’t quite sure where to head. Fortunately, within a few moments, a friendly bartender approached us and inquired about our seating preferences. We were promptly ushered to our table by another staff member.

Perusing the extensive drink menu, we found ourselves in a mild quandary regarding our selections. Turning to our waiter for guidance, we were pleased to find him adept at tailoring his recommendations to our individual tastes. With his assistance, we confidently settled on our beverage choices. Personally, I opted for the tantalizing Strange Horse cocktail, which proved to be a delightful choice that garnered appreciation from everyone at our table.

While we eagerly awaited the arrival of all our group members, we decided to whet our appetites with a delectable order of mussels. These were elegantly presented in a coconut-infused soy broth, crowned with piping hot bread. As the evening progressed, it dawned on us that we were the sole occupants of TOP FLR for dinner that night. Evidently, this establishment exudes an ambiance perfect for romantic date nights, and our lively chatter attracted a few curious glances from fellow diners. Approximately half an hour later, our last group member arrived, and we wasted no time in placing our main course orders.

Stacy and I chose to indulge in the Top Flr Mac N Cheese, a delectable fusion of sharp cheddar, smoked gouda, and a spicy panko crust, along with the Smokey Tomata Pizza, adorned with grilled onions, goat cheese, and fresh mozzarella. Allison, opting for a lighter fare, savored the Local Lettuce Blend salad, featuring Asian pear, fromage blanc, pistachios, and a delightful honey lavender dressing.

Meanwhile, Danny relished the Spanish Chorizo Flat Bread, which showcased queso fresco, tomatillo, pickled shallots, and jalapenos. Each of us was thoroughly satisfied with our choices, reveling in the rich and diverse flavors of our dishes. As the meal concluded, we took a moment to individually rate our dining experience on a scale from one to five.
